As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for its parliamentary primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 27, the Bantama constituency stands out with an intense contest between the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Asenso Boakye, and the aspiring candidate, Lawyer Ralph Agyapong.

Amidst the campaign fervor, a group of residents from Ohwim, Amanfrom, Hwidiem, and Adoato has come forward, urging NPP delegates to repose their faith in Hon. Asenso Boakye for the continuity of his impactful developmental agenda.

In a press conference held on Thursday, January 25, Mr. Clement Amponsah Mensah, the leader of these residents, passionately highlighted the achievements of Hon. Asenso Boakye during his first term as the Member of Parliament.

He emphasized the positive impact on job creation and various developmental projects that have significantly contributed to the well-being of the constituents.

“ I will particularly commend Hon. Asenso Boakye’s commitment to addressing critical issues, especially the ongoing Owabi bridge project, which has been a long-standing concern for our communities, especially during rainy seasons.

“This bridge project, aimed at improving accessibility and ensuring safety, resonates as a pivotal initiative that reflects Hon. Asenso Boakye’s dedication to the well-being of his constituents,” he said.

Despite it being his first term in office, the residents argue that the visible and tangible development brought to the constituency warrants giving Hon. Asenso Boakye another term.

They emphasized major projects, such as the Bantama through to Ohwin and Barekese roads, as crucial infrastructural improvements that have positively impacted the lives of the people.

The residents issued a stern warning to NPP delegates, suggesting that a vote against Hon. Asenso Boakye might lead him to consider running as an independent candidate in the general elections.

The group pledged their unwavering support for Hon. Asenso Boakye in such a scenario, emphasizing their determination to back him to victory.

In a show of unity, the residents advised Hon. Asenso Boakye’s main competitor, Lawyer Ralph Agyapong, the brother of the well-known Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, to consider stepping down if necessary and indeed if he has the Constituency at heart as being purported.
