The Director General Of National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi has registered his candidacy for the party’s constituency primary on January 27, 2024.
That was after the hard working CEO of the National Sports Authority submitted his nomination form to the Ahafo Ano South-West Constituency Executives at Mankranso on Friday December 22, 2023.
The nomination form was received by the constituency Chairman, Mr. Edward Kofi Acheampong, constituency secretary, Patrick Okyere Afriyie and constituency research and election officer Madam Salomey Asiedu.
Amidst brass band, the Prof. Twumasi was accompanied from Mankranso, where the party office is located by a large gathering of party faithful adorned in his campaign T-shirts and banners.
It was funfare throughout as his supporters were seen singing and dancing in coloursof the party.
Speaking to journalists after his submission, Prof. Twumasi called for sustained peace, unity and harmony among members and supporters of the NPP in the constituency since his intention to contest the seat was to bring development.
“The enthusiastic support shown for my candidacy by the party members in the constituency has motivated me to strive for victory in both the primaries and, with God’s grace, in the parliamentary election on December 7th, 2024.”
Prof. Twumasi also emphasized his determination to secure victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ahafo South West constituency, stating, “The journey to bring the NPP color to Ahafo Ano South West has officially begun.”
He then urged all delegates to rally behind and vote for him to serve the constituency.
