How NPP National Chairman Warned Against Accepting Alan Kyeremanten Back Into The Party In 2008

First National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Joao da Rocha( BJ Da Rocha) had in 2008 warned the NPP about the negative repercussions of their decision to accept Alan Kyeremanten back into the party after he had resigned in 2007 and had rescinded his resignation due to pressure from some influential persons within the party.

BJ Da Rocha had warned that Alan Kyeremanten’s declaration that there was a national interest superior to the interest of the NPP cleared showed that he was not altogether committed and had no deep-rooted dedication to the cause of the NPP.

“In light of this statement, it is my considered view that it will not be in the best interest of the NPP to receive Mr. Alan Kyeremanteng back into the party’s fold.

He will become a disruptive factor in the party, a stumbling block, a loose cannon, the party has an elections to win, we should concentrate our efforts on the task ahead and let him go his way in peace,” B.J Da Rocha warned in 2008.

Alan Kyeremanten had in 2007 in the aftermath National Delegates Conference that elected a presidential candidate tendered in his resignation from the party. He was, however, persuaded to rescind his decision and return to the party.

Alan Kyeremanten today, September 25, 2023, announced his resignation from the party and his decision to run as an independent presidential candidate, citing encumbrances put in his way as he sought to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
