Former NPP Chairman Bares Teeth At President Akufo Addo Over Cape Coast Airport, Railway And Other Promises

Former Cape Coast Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP), Mr. Frank Hutchful popularly known as ‘Oguaa Akoto’ is on the heels of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to honour his promises to the people of the Central Region.

He wants President Akufo-Addo to without further delay fulfil his litany of promises made to the people of the area including the airport, railway, and dual carriage roads among others.

“The government promised us some projects which date back to Kufuor’s time. That’s Pedu Junction to Effutu Double Road. I hope the government will start working on it. We again have Aggrey Junction to Petro’s supposed dual carriage road’ Mr. Hutchful mentioned.

“The people of Cape Coast have lost confidence in President Akufo-Addo over his failed promises made to them in the heat of the campaigns”, he bemoaned.

Speaking with MyNewsGh.com’s reporter, Hajia Asana Gordon, Oguaa Akoto who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of Hutchland City indicated that the ancient capital is deficient in many ways, especially when it comes to economic ventures that will improve upon the living standards of the people

The Vice President of the Cape Coast Concern Citizens Association said several proposals have been sent to President Akufo-Addo concerning the development of Cape Coast but none has been responded to.

The Cape Coast harbour promised by the government, a dual carriage road from Cape Coast to some major towns, and skills training among other job opportunities for the youth, he indicated were contained in such correspondence to the President.

“What pains me most is that my executives and I even sent proposal letters as reminders of the president’s promise made to the people of Cape Coast including the Airport and railway but nothing has still been done about it which I’m so disappointed in the government” he stressed.

Mr. Hutchful stated that 80% of Cape Coast development were initiated by Ignatius Kutu Acheampong and lamented NPP’s failure to the people of Cape Coast.

“People of Cape Coast are speaking in pain because NPP led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo failed to deliver his promises made to the people of Cape Coast despite the massive votes the party had in the area” he fumed.
