Officers from the Eastern Regional Police Command and personnel from the Environmental Health Directorate have exhumed the body of a woman allegedly killed and buried by her son at Koforidua-Kyekyewere.

In June this year, the family of the deceased declared her missing after several attempts to find her failed.

A theft incident led to the interrogation of the suspect, Gideon Kojo Asomani, through which he confessed that he killed and buried his mother.

The 26-year-old suspect subsequently led the Police to the site where he buried the mother’s body.

The Police officers exhumed the body on Tuesday, December 12 for further investigation.

The family is shocked at the revelation and wondered what might have caused the 26-year-old man to kill his mother, who was suffering from dementia.
