In a heartwarming gesture of community support and dedication to education, Hon. S.O Frimpong, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ejisu, together with his family, has unveiled a significant contribution to Akyawkrom Methodist School in the Ejisu Municipality.
The generous donation came in the form of a fully mechanized borehole, a vital resource that promises to make a lasting impact on the school and its surroundings.
The ceremony, which took place on October 5th, 2023, was marked not only by the handover of the borehole but also by the official inauguration of an ultra-modern school block for Akyawkrom Methodist Kindergarten School.
It was a day of celebration and gratitude for the entire community.
Hon. Frimpong, who is not only a dedicated public servant but also an Elder in the Church Of Pentecost Bompata District of the Ashanti Region, shared that the inspiration for this act of kindness came from a heartfelt appeal by the school’s Headmistress.
Being a proud alumnus of Akyawkrom Methodist School himself, he and his family decided to fund the borehole project, with a total cost exceeding GH 50,000, from their own resources.
In an interview, Hon. Frimpong urged fellow individuals, especially those from Akyawkrom, to consider giving back to their roots and supporting the schools and communities that shaped them.
This act of benevolence serves as a shining example of how local leaders can directly impact their communities in meaningful ways.
The Chief’s representative, Nana Baffo Tumutuo, Kontihene of Akyawkrom, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Frimpong, his family, and the entire Municipal for their invaluable assistance.
Mr. Kwabena Owusu, the Municipal Education Director, conveyed the school’s appreciation and emphasized the importance of putting these new facilities to good use for the benefit of students and the community.
Hon. S.O Frimpong and his family’s remarkable gesture demonstrates the power of individuals to make a difference in their communities.
By providing Akyawkrom Methodist School with a reliable source of clean water, they have not only improved the educational environment but also touched the lives of countless children and families in the Ejisu Municipality.
It is a shining example of how a strong sense of community can lead to positive change.
