AHENKRO TO GET A NEW MARKET AS CHIEF CUT SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION TO START.

The chief of Ahenkro, Nana Ahenkro Sei Poku IV has cut sod to begin the construction of Ahenkro Market in Afigya kwabre north district of the Ashanti Region.

The project, expected to be completed within 21 months is under the Public and Private Partnership Support Program (PPP ).

The construction of the market project will include 149 stores, a paved station car park, and a washroom facility.

In a brief groundbreaking ceremony, the Chief of Ahenkro, Nana Ahenkro Sei Poku IV said the construction of the modern markets had become necessary because of the deplorable state of the old one, which was built over seventy years ago.

He appealed to the residents of Ahenkro to support the Assembly and the contractor to ensure that the project is completed on time.

Meanwhile the District Chief Executive DCE for Afigya Kwabre North District, Hon.Kakari Acheamfuor said no trader will be left out after the completion of the project.

“The assembly will make sure no single trader will be left out after the project is completed. The stores and structures shall be giving to them as we already have their names in our records.he promised;

He therefore charged the contractor of Jometo construction limited to speed works to ensure that the contract is completed on schedule.

The contractor to the project Mr.Joseph Enyan assured that the work would be complete within schedule.
