A tense showdown erupted at the Acheamfuor lorry terminal, plunging the bustling hub into chaos as muscular enforcers, commonly known as Macho-men, clashed with members of the Acheamfuor family.
The altercation, which unfolded on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 9:20 am, left drivers and passengers stranded as operations ground to a halt under the looming threat of violence.
Eyewitnesses recount a scene of turmoil as the Macho-men, allegedly summoned by the wife of the late Dr. Baah Acheamfuor, descended upon the terminal with the intent to intimidate and assert dominance over the family and traders.
Mr. Adasah Nkrumah Kofi Frimpong, a vocal member of the Acheamfuor family, condemned the actions, alleging that the widow had repeatedly flouted court orders with impunity, backed by her purported influence over the judiciary and law enforcement in the Ashanti Region.
In an impassioned plea, Frimpong vowed that the family would not cower in the face of intimidation, mobilizing to defend their interests against what they perceive as a brazen abuse of power.
The escalation follows the culmination of Dr. Acheamfuor’s final funeral rites on February 10, 2024, signaling an ongoing feud marred by legal wrangling and discord.
