The Covid-19 has placed a heavy toll on human and economic development in Ghana and the Ashanti Region has been one of the regions being affected by this pandemic.
The Ashanti Regional Health Directorate is therefore about to embark on a National Immunization Days Campaign which is schedule to start on the 20th – 24th of January, 2023 targeting 165,000 people.
The main aim of the Ashanti Regional Health Directorate for this particular campaign is to assured that, the Health Directorate are ready to combat the pandemic with the availability of the vaccines and also involve the populates in the exercise as we kick start the new year.
Social groups like, the Keep-fit clubs, Churches, Schools, Fun Clubs amongst others in the region will also be involved in this exercise for them to be part of the vaccination exercise for free.
Also, as part of the campaign, the Mobile Nurses will be moving from house-to-house and in every nook and cranny to make sure that every single person in the region is not left behind.
The Health Directorate is therefore, seeking the compliance and availability of the general public so that the campaign will be easy and effective.
Statistics shows that 3,908,864 (71.4%) people in the region have at least taken one doze of the Covid-19 Vaccine and 1,605,775 (49.8%) have been fully vaccinated in the region.
The National Immunization Days Campaign which is about to begin on the 20th – 24th January, 2023, is targeting 165,000 people in the Ashanti Region to be vaccinated.
