Man Beats Mother-in-law Over Her Refusal To Support His Relationship With Daughter

A man has allegedly beaten his mother-in-law to a pulp over her refusal to support a relationship with her daughter at Peki in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region

The attacker, whose identity has been concealed by the police, could not understand why the mother-in-law disapproved of his relationship with her daughter resulting in the attack.

The attack has resulted in the mother-in-law sustaining severe injuries on her face, head and other parts of her body.

The incident which occurred in the Volta region has been reported to the police, but the family of the victim has expressed their dissatisfaction about how the case is being handled by the police and is threatening to take the case to a higher authority.

The case has however been called in court, but the victim cannot afford a lawyer due to her financial situation and is appealing to any lawyer who can assist her in going through the court proceedings.

A presenter at Radio Grin at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Nyankpala, Godwin A. Apullah who has been following the story wrote “The first call I missed very early this morning was from a relative of the lady in this picture. She is currently in the hospital from an assault by her daughter’s boyfriend which is not the first time. This is because the woman doesn’t support her daughter’s relationship with the guy.

The elder daughter reported the case to the police and the case is in court but the family can’t afford a lawyer and the case is almost a foolish case because of the man’s links with the police.
