Boakye Agyarko a Presidential Candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stepped down.
Mr Agyarko tied with Addai Nimo in Saturday’s NPP Special Delegates Congress for the 5th position.
This means there will be no run-off between the two to make it up to the elected five candidates to compete in November 4th, 2023.
Darlington Bill Boampong, the Bono Campaign Manager for Boakye Agyarko who broke the news on Ama Ghana on Kumasi based Time FM noted that the decision is in the best interest of Mr Agyarko and to save his hard won image.
“If Mr Agyarko had spoken before the 2020 elections, the NPP would have been in opposition by now,” he told Kwame Koranteng, the host.
Background
Addai Nimo and Boakye Agyarko secured 0.98% each representing a tie in the just ended Super Delegates Congress which called for a run off between the two on 26/08/2023.
