Credible information reaching this portal from reliable source reveals a grand scheme by some powerful elements who have close ties to the Jubilee House to reshuffle out Minister for Energy Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as Napo.

Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s continues stay as Energy Minster apparently is the only blockade to some corrupt sweetheart deals at the Energy Ministry and it’s subsidiaries particularly the Ghana National Petroleum Commission (GNPC) and Ghana Gas.

The President Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to appease these faceless elements to embark on this major ministerial reshuffle to pave way for these elements to have their way to pen those sweetheart deals.

Ghanaians will recall that Napo, called out the Board Chairman of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Freddie Blay, over the PetroSA deal, which seeks to offload some of Ghana’s oil interests to the South African National Company (PetroSA).

The energy minister, who is also the member of parliament for Manhyia South, told Blay that it is scandalous for him to be pushing for the deal even though he has been told on a number of occasions that it will not be approved because it is not in the interest of Ghana.

He ordered the GNPC board chairman to withdraw from the deal and to stop further engagements on it.

Consequently, Accra-based Newspaper owned by Freddie Blay Daily Guide and it’s affiliate has been on the heels on the minister publishing false reports to court public disaffection for the minister.

Meanwhile the demand by majority of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MPs), by a majority decision, to remove Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta as the Minister of Finance might be disregarded by the President. The President told the MPs he had heard but it looks like he will not do it. Credible reports indicate that Mr. Minister of Finance.

A major victim of the impending reshuffle who our source tells us has been main target is Energy Minister will be Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh.

RESHUF FLE MINISTERS VERY SOON’

Credible information available to the Daily Statesman indicates that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is gearing up to undertake a reshuffle of his Ministers.

Sources close to the Jubilee House have informed the paper that an official announcement regarding “the espansive reshuffle is imminent”.
President Akufo-Addo, who assumed office on January 7, 2017, has previously executed several “mini-reshuffles” during his tenure.

However, this impending re-shuffle, it is believed, will be of a more extensive nature, signaling potential changes in key ministerial positions.

The upcoming reshuffle is expected to involve the reassignnment of current ministers to different Ministries and the introduction of new and fresh faces into the government. as well as the promotion of certian Deputy Ministers to full ministerial roles.

While the exact date of the announcement remains uncertain, our sources have hinted that it will be made “very, very soon.”

President Akufo-Addo is renowned for his practice of pre-informing affected Ministers about their status within the government, whether they are to remain in their current Ministry or face reshuffle.
