Engaging with stakeholders ahead of the launch and commencement of the YouStart flagship program by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, led by Nana Akuffo Addo, the District Chief Executive for Banda, Hon. Emmanuel Akone has assured the Ghanaian youth of the Government’s continuous support through the YouStart initiative to abate unemployment situation in Ghana.
According to the DCE, those with business ideas will be provided with the requisite support and guidance through the YouStart to grow and expand their businesses.
“The YouStart is a program that seeks to support young entrepreneurs to gain access to capital, training and to have technical skills that will enable them to start, build and grow their own businesses”, he said.
Speaking with Appiah Kubi, in an exclusive interview on Tain FM Anopa Nkommo, Hon. Akoneh called for public support to grasp the program to poise its implementation, saying the YouStart program will provide a perfect opportunity to address unemployment rate in the country.
Empowering the youth with component plans, he emphasized that, the initiative have been in 4 stages, which would ensure with, soft loans of up to GH₵50,000 to GH₵100,000 to help start-ups (in particular, District entrepreneur program), GH₵100,000 to GH₵500,000 (in particular, Commercial entrepreneur program), GH₵2,000 to GH₵10,000 (in particular, Grace work entrepreneur program) and GH₵2,000 to GH₵25,000 (in particular, NABCO).
The Chief Executive advised young people to pursue careers as well as helping others to be employed in their entrepreneurs, as that would contribute to the development of an enterprising nation, which remains the vision of the government.
