Marie-Claire Rupio Atsu, the wife of Black Stars winger Christian Atsu still believes her husband is still alive.
Atsu has been declared missing following the devastating earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria last Monday. The disaster has claimed over 10, 000 lives so far .
It was earlier reported that Atsu had been rescued and was receiving treatment at an unnamed hospital. However, his football team, Hatayspor later reported that the information was inaccurate and that it was a case of mistaken identity.
Speaking to the BBC on Friday, Claire Rupio expressed optimism that her husband was still alive.
“The last time he spoke to us was on Saturday morning, It’s just surprising for his club to confirm he’s found and after 11 hours we hear something different, but I trust and still believe he’s alive, ” she told the BBC.
