A/R: NPP Identifiable Groups Promise Record-Breaking Votes for Dr. Bawumia.

Identifiable groups within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region have pledged to campaign vigorously to ensure an unprecedented victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flag-bearer in the upcoming general elections.

These groups, which boast over 20,000 active members, include the Motor Riders Association, Nana Papaye Fun Club, Adum Petty Traders, and Bawumia One Touch, among others.

Known for their longstanding support for the NPP, they were instrumental in the party’s victory during former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s era and played a significant role in securing power for the current President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in 2016.

Addressing a press after their meeting, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the groups, Dr. Mohammed Issah Ababio, also known as Mallam Issah, explained that their decision to back Dr. Bawumia stems from their belief in the NPP’s track record of governance.

According to him, the current government has made significant strides in all sectors of the economy, making it impossible for them to sit on the sidelines.

“The current government has done massively well in all sectors of the economy, which makes it impossible for us to sit aloof without campaigning for them,” he stated.

Dr. Ababio also emphasized the need to avoid a repeat of 2008, when the NPP lost power to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), which he claimed led to the collapse of several sectors.

He passionately appealed to Ghanaians, saying, “No Ghanaian has been able to transform this country better than any previous government. We should not repeat the mistakes of 2008 by voting out the NPP.”

Hon. Mary Stesla Fosuaa, another prominent member of the group, echoed similar sentiments. She urged Ghanaians to vote massively for the NPP to ensure the protection of key policies, including the Free Senior High School initiative.

“The Free Senior High School Policy is the biggest policy in Ghana’s political history. It must be protected by voting for the NPP,” she stated.

Hon. Joseph Asare, also a member of the groups, appealed to the party leadership to provide logistical support for their campaign activities.

“We plead with the party leadership to support us with the necessary logistics to ensure our work is carried out without any hindrances,” he remarked.

The groups have assured the NPP leadership of their unwavering commitment and have vowed to secure a historic victory for Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming elections.
