Orbis International Enhances Eye Care in Ashanti Region with Generous Equipment Donation.

In a significant effort to bolster the quality of eye care services in the Ashanti Region, Orbis International, a renowned humanitarian organization dedicated to eye health, has today, 15th September, 2023, extended its benevolent hand once more.

A recent donation of vital eye care equipment to the Ashanti Regional Health Directorate marks yet another milestone in their ongoing commitment to bettering healthcare in the region.

The donated equipment, totaling 69 essential items valued at USD 55,326, includes a diverse array of instruments such as Retinoscopes, Auto Refractors, Slit Lamps with Applanation Tonometer, Ophthalmoscope, Trial Case and Frame, Pen Touch, Minor Set, Lensmeter, Trolley, Gallipot and more.

These instruments are destined for three District Hospitals and a Polyclinic within the region, which are, Mamponteng Government Hospital (Kwabre East District), Mankranso Government Hospital (Ahafo Ano South – West District) , Akropong Government Hospital and Asuofua Polyclinic (Atwima Nwabiagya North District).

These facilities serve as lifelines for underserved communities, offering eye care services to the people.

Mr. Adolf Ollennu, the Program Director of Orbis International, led a delegation to formally hand over the equipment to the Ashanti Regional Health Directorate.

He reaffirmed Orbis International’s commitment to improving eye care delivery in the region and pledged to continue their benevolent work.

“This generous donation not only underscores the vital role of humanitarian organizations in healthcare but also shines a light on the collaborative efforts driving positive change in underserved communities,” he said.
