Tragedy Strikes Twifo Morkwa As Infant Twins Drown In Abandoned Galamsey Pit

A terrible occurrence happened in the Twifo Atti-morkwa region of the Central Region’s Morkwaa, where two-and-a-half-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, perished in an abandoned galamsey pit that was overflowing with water.

While the twins were playing in the compound, their ailing mother reportedly dozed off.

She started looking for her kids when she woke up and eventually checked the whole house and the backyard. Sadly, she discovered her twins dead in the hole.

The bodies have been retrieved and investigations are being undertaken by the Twifo Atti-morkwa district police command.

Hon. George Sam, the assemblyman for the Morkwa electoral constituency, voiced his regrets and worries regarding the occurrence in an interview.
