A trader at the Dr. Mensah market in Kumasi was killed in a gruesome motor accident on Thursday morning.

The 51-year-old cabbage vendor, known as Akua Serwaa, was crushed to death when a truck ran into pedestrians at the market.

The long vehicle was loaded with second-hand clothing.

An eyewitness reported that the driver of the truck, with the registration GT 7452-11, had lost control of the wheels, possibly due to brake failure.
