The Danger Of Akyem Mafia’s Tactical Mind Game On The NPP – Part 1

The ruling NPP, the party I have sacrificed everything for since 1992, is at a cross-roads and a great dilemma beckons before us. The soul of the party can be heard in a distance crying for help.

While majority of those at the grassroots feel neglected and are crying for emancipation, a few of those at the top, led by the likes of Gabby Otchere-Darko, are determined to perpetuate their control of the party. Disturbingly, they are more concerned about controlling the party than winning power in 2024.

 

 

 

Yes, you may have a problem with how the Mafia and their cohorts have greedily amassed wealth and run down the country’s economy and the image of the Party to a very large extent, but there is something about them that is so admirable – their ability to manipulate and control the minds of people to have them do their bidding.

How they succeeded in making someone as important as former President Kufuor so unpopular and virtually non-existent in NPP remains a mystery. Their strategy was viciously phenomenon.

Gauging the emotions of the people at the time, they knew the right false allegations to level against him to make him look wicked in the eyes of the party people. Perhaps they should have been sincere to tell us the kind of help the former president gave to candidate Nana Addo in 2008 and what Nana himself did that caused his defeat at the time.

 

And, worth mentioning, is how they manipulated the minds of the party people with well crafted and fabricated falsehood against Kwabena Agyapong, Paul Afoko and Sammy Crabbe to make them look like the most dangerous enemies of the party and got them suspended unconstitutionally.

 

They had mastered their craft of dealing with anyone they deemed undesirable. Besides, can I forget to mention how they succeeded in making a CPP man, Freddie Blay, the Chairman of the party ahead of Stephen Ntim, a true party man? You can’t but to admire them.

 

Suddenly, Kufuor became the demon who didn’t want Nana Addo to be president. This falsehood, which was meant to court sympathy for Nana Addo, was successfully drummed very deep into the minds of many of us.

 

As a result, some of our people were emboldened to openly assault JAK verbally with unprintable words. I always thank God I didn’t go to that extent, even though I was also made to virtually hate him.

 

I, recently, was emotionally moved by a video in which a colleague was apologising to Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong for the role he was deceived to play in their suspension. Remorsefully, he said if he had known what he knows today, there was no way he would have done what he did to them.

Let me confess and say that I will soon have to publicly render my apology too because we were all misinformed and deceived to hate and maltreat innocent people. Recently, while in Ghana, I was proverbially told to go and add my stone to the stones in former President Kufuor’s house.

And, guess what, I shamefully went there and added mine to clear my conscience, and I am told, after me, more people who have also come to know the truth, have gone there to lay theirs at his feet to clear their conscience. Time is indeed the true judge of all things.
