The Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. John Kwame Duodu, popularly known as ‘Sir John’, has sent a word of caution to each of the party’s presidential and parliamentary aspirants to do critical self-assessment-ahead-of the party’s yet-to-be scheduled delegates conferences at the constituency and national levels to elect parliamentary and presidential candidates respectively.

According to him, the party needs strong, capable, and committed candidates who are ready to put in extra work that would ensure the party’s victory in the next general elections.

Speaking to the media after the inauguration of the Council of Elders, Patrons, Finance and Disciplinary Committees for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency at Afri- Nkawie of the Ashanti Region, Sir John opined that the NPP needs men and women who are genuinely committed to the party’s cause of breaking the eight to lead the party into the 2024 elections and therefore any aspirant who is not committed and ready for action should reconsider his or her stand and back off if necessary.

He urged all the aspirants to assess their strengths and commitment and decide whether to continue their pursuits to become the party’s presidential and parliamentary candidates ahead of the 2024 polls.

He also called on the party’s delegates to fish out and vote for the ablest, workaholic and committed aspirants among the lot rather than choosing just famous, wealthy, or aspirants who would seek to influence them with giveaways but cannot take the party to the promised land.

He reminded the party’s members, especially the delegates that whereas the party’s internal democratic credentials have always been enviable, it is important they keep reminding themselves about the party’s record-making quest of breaking the eight in 2024 and choose candidates who will lead the party into victory and make the breaking the eight mantras a reality come December 7, 2024.

He expressed his profound appreciation to the teaming supporters of the party and all delegates across the country for their unflinching support, efforts, prayers for the party, and decorum during the constituency, regional, and national delegate conferences that brought in Officers who are more poised for action and also entreated them to choose yet again the right candidates who will help achieve the “Break the 8” agenda and retain the NPP in power.
