Road Contractor Donates Food Items and Cash to 1,000 Widows in Kumasi.

A renowned road contractor has donated several food items worth millions of cedis to over one thousand widows and the needy in society.

Mr. Kofi Job, the Chief Executive Officer of Kofi Job Construction Company, together with his wife, Dr. Esther Gyebi, presented the items at the forecourt of Otec FM on Monday, 23rd December 2024.

The items donated included bags of rice, cooking oil, chicken, and some cash.

Speaking to Silver News, Mr. Kofi Job said he was deeply touched by the plight of the vulnerable in society, particularly widows. He explained that God had blessed him immensely, and he believed that recipients of God’s blessings should not limit their resources to themselves and their families but should extend a helping hand to those in need.

Dr. Esther Gyebi added that their primary aim was to bring smiles to the faces of the needy and vulnerable, especially widows, during the festive season.

“This is an annual donation, and we pray God helps us to reach out to even more people who are in need. One thousand people received items this year, but we are targeting 2,000 widows next year,” she said.

Mr. Kofi Job further expressed his empathy for widows, saying, “I feel their plight because I have a mother like them. If their partners were still around, they probably wouldn’t be facing these hardships. The least we can do is to put smiles on their faces.”

The donation brought immense joy to the beneficiaries, many of whom shared heartfelt testimonies.

“I have never witnessed this in my life before. May God bless Mr. Kofi Job and his wife, Dr. Esther Gyebi, with long life to enable them to do this for us every year. Life has been tough ever since my husband passed on. I always rely on gifts from my children for Christmas, but this year, even if they do not come, I can still enjoy Christmas,” said 74-year-old Maame Janet Agyei.

Another beneficiary, Kwabena Boateng, who is physically challenged, also expressed his gratitude.

“My condition makes me struggle financially. When I heard of this donation, I was very happy. Though I wasn’t expecting all these items, I now have them, and I am very excited today. Things would have been difficult for me this year,” he said.

This act of kindness from Mr. Kofi Job and his wife has been widely praised by the community, with many hoping that their philanthropic efforts will inspire others to support the less privileged in society.
