New Life Mission International Church Overseer Backs Government’s Call for Official Prophecy Submissions.

The General Overseer of New Life Mission International Church at Asuofua, Apostle Solomon Boakye Agyemang, has praised the Government of Ghana for establishing the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, aimed at fostering direct engagement with religious leaders and ensuring prompt assessment of spiritual messages with national implications.

The initiative, announced in a statement issued on Sunday, 10th August 2025, by the Presidential Envoy, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, calls on religious leaders to submit any prophecies or spiritual revelations with potential national impact to the office for official review.

The directive particularly applies to prophecies or messages concerning prominent political figures, governance, national security, or the overall stability of the country.

In his remarks, Apostle Solomon Boakye Agyemang described the move as a positive step towards enhancing communication between the government and religious leaders.

“It is good for the government to have such a ministry so that there can be direct communication with men of God,” he stated.

He, however, cautioned ministers of the gospel against exploiting the initiative for personal gain through the delivery of fabricated prophecies.

Apostle Agyemang criticised the growing trend of sharing prophecies on social media, insisting that it is neither biblical nor edifying.

“Given prophecy on social media is not biblical and should not be tolerated,” he emphasised. He further noted that some prophets use public prophecy declarations as a tool for cheap popularity and financial gain.

“Those prophets want cheap popularity in order to make money; that is why they normally go public with such announcements,” he said.

Touching on matters of religious tolerance, Apostle Boakye underscored the importance of respecting diverse faiths in Ghana’s multi-religious society.

“Everyone has his or her faith, Christians believe in God, Muslims believe in Mohammed, and Traditionalists believe in small gods. Nobody can force someone to believe what he doesn’t belong to,” he stated.

He called on the clergy to remain truthful, focused, and prayerful in their service, and to use prophecy as a tool for guidance, encouragement, and warning, rather than a means to stir fear or division. The Apostle also urged the public to test every prophecy against scripture and sound doctrine before accepting it as truth.

With Ghana being a nation of deep religious diversity, the government’s call for official submission and review of sensitive prophecies is expected to strengthen unity, reduce unnecessary tension, and uphold national stability.
