The Chief Executive Officer of Gengimed Mineral Water has officially inaugurated his water production company in the Ashanti Region today, marking a significant step in local industrial growth and job creation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the CEO stated that the Water Producers Association of Ghana warmly welcomes the government’s proposed 24-hour economy policy, describing it as a strategic move that could help boost productivity and strengthen the country’s economy.

According to him, the policy will enable manufacturing companies, including water producers, to operate efficiently and expand their output.

However, he appealed to government to provide financial support to local producers to enable them scale up operations, employ more workers, and increase production.

He emphasized that water remains an essential commodity, stressing that “water is life,” and therefore the industry must be supported to meet growing demand.

On regulation, the CEO urged authorities such as the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to intensify routine inspections and clamp down on illegal water producers whose activities could undermine the credibility of legitimate companies.

He noted that strict monitoring will help protect public health and safeguard the integrity of certified water producers across the country.

The event was attended by stakeholders in the water production sector, community members, and invited guests.
