“Embrace E-Learning, Crucial For Ghanaian Education System” – Hon. Rev. Ntim Fodjuor Tells students.

The Deputy Education Minister of Ghana, Hon. Rev. Ntim Fodjour, has called for the widespread adoption of e-learning in all Ghanaian universities and basic schools.

His remarks came during the recently concluded KNUST E-Learning Week celebration, where he emphasized the importance of integrating digital learning platforms to address the increasing enrolment figures in educational institutions.

Hon. Rev. Fodjour highlighted that the government’s “one student, one laptop” policy aims to enhance e-learning across the nation.

He stated, “The government under the one student one laptop policy is a way of enhancing e-learning, and tertiary students are next to benefit from the policy.”

This initiative is designed to ensure that every student has access to the necessary technological tools to participate in online education, thus bridging the digital divide and promoting equal opportunities for learning.

The Director of KNUST E-Learning, Elder Professor Eric Apau Asante, also underscored the benefits of e-learning for students.

He advised students to take advantage of the e-learning platforms available, noting that it provides a flexible and comfortable way to learn.

“Students should take the opportunity to enroll in e-learning as it’s a very comfortable way to learn at your own comfort,” he said.

Professor Asante urged Ghanaians to embrace digitization, emphasizing that it is now the most common way to learn globally.

“Ghanaians should embrace the digitization which is now the most common way to learn so that they’ll not be left out,” he added.

The KNUST E-Learning Week celebration concluded with a grand ceremony attended by the Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, senior staff, lecturers, diplomatic staff, partners, students, and invited guests.

The event served as a platform to showcase the potential of e-learning and its impact on the future of education in Ghana.

As the nation continues to navigate the challenges posed by increasing student enrolment, e-learning offers a viable solution to enhance the quality and accessibility of education.

By adopting digital learning platforms, Ghanaian universities and basic schools can provide students with a more flexible and engaging learning experience, ensuring that they are well-equipped for the demands of the modern world.
