In a country where access to quality education remains a challenge for many rural communities, one youth-led initiative is taking bold steps to change the narrative, one student at a time.
The Write the Future initiative, launched this month by the Change by Action Project, has already impacted over 500 students in basic and junior high schools across parts of Ghana’s Eastern Region. Through the distribution of essential school supplies, interactive learning sessions, and mentorship in literacy and goal setting, the project is lighting a spark in schools that are often overlooked.
“We want every student, no matter their background, to feel empowered to dream and succeed,” says Paul Adu-Gyamfi, a registered nurse and law student who founded the NGO. “Write The Future is not just an outreach program. It is a statement that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.”
In schools such as Asokore Methodist Basic and Mpaem M/A JHS, the team facilitated inspiring engagements that encouraged students to set personal goals and explore their potential.
A standout moment was captured when a student proudly held up a placard representing SDG 4, a global goal for inclusive and equitable quality education.
The teaching staff shared their excitement and appreciation. “It wasn’t just about giving out supplies. They connected with the students as real people. That left a lasting impact,” remarked a teacher.
This marks only the beginning.
The pilot phase of Write the Future aims to reach 2,000 students, with an overarching goal of impacting 20,000 Ghanaian students nationwide.
The initiative forms part of the broader vision of Change by Action Project, a youth-led, youth-focused NGO founded by Paul Adu-Gyamfi. The organization is committed to building self-reliant and equitable communities, ensuring lasting empowerment and generational progress.
The team is calling on individuals, public institutions, corporate bodies, and volunteers to support this impactful movement as it scales across the country.
