Speeding ambulance rushing a patient from Fanteakwa South District to the Eastern Regional hospital in Koforidua for emergency healthcare crashed after knocking down a stray cow on the curve of Akyem Osiem to Old Tafo main road.
The crash occurred at about 8:20pm Thursday March 16, 2023.
An Ambulance vehicle from Fanteakwa North was swiftly dispatched to pick the patient and paramedics aboard the accident ambulance vehicle to the Regional Hospital.
The paramedics were treated and discharged after a few hours.
The patient is however on admission.
The Eastern Regional Manager of Ghana National Ambulance Service,Michael Gaani confirmed the accident to Starr News.
He expressed worry that stray animals in communities continue to threaten the operation of the service in parts of the region with a call on the assemblies to enforce their by-laws in the phenomenon.
