Covid-19: All The Vaccines Have Comparable Efficacies And It’s Safe – GHS Director General To Ghanaians.

Ghana Health Services (GHS) have declared 20th to 24th January, 2023, a Nationwide Immunization Days Campaign to reveal efforts that the nation are ready to combat the pandemic with the availability of the vaccines and also involve the populates in the exercise in the new year.

Social groups like, Keep-fit clubs, Churches, Schools, Fun Clubs amongst others have been participating in the vaccination exercise since its commencement.

On the 23rd January, 2023, the Director General of the Ghana Health Services, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye embarked on a working visit in the Ashanti Region to expect works on the ongoing National Immunization Days Campaign which started on the 20th to 24th January, 2023.

As part of the tour, Dr. Kuma had already visited the Central Region before coming to the Ashanti Region.

He visited the Suntreso Government Hospital and the Manhyia Government Hospital respectively.

Accompanying him at the visit was the Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang, Deputy Health Director in charge of Public Health and other dignitaries.

Dr. Kuma, said that the right practices needed to be adopted to fight the covid-19 pandemic especially in a time where all health protocols have been snubbed by the public is by declaring the 5-days Immunization Campaign.

He entreated members of the general public to make themselves available for the vaccination exercise whiles complying with the covid-19 safety measures as  the health directorate works hard to achieve a herd immunity.

He was pleased as to how the public has entreated to corporate with the health officials during the exercise.

He finally ensured that all the vaccines deployed in the region and in Ghana as a whole have comparable efficacies and when taken won’t have any negative health implications.

Statistics shows that 3,908,864 (71.4%) people in the Ashanti Region have at least taken one doze of the Covid-19 Vaccine and 1,605,775 (49.8%) have been fully vaccinated in the region.

Ghana currently is having only 11 active cases of the Covid-19.
