Real Bamako humbled Hearts of Oak by a resounding 3-0 at the Stade 26 Mars in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
The homesters begun on an explosive note, having taken the game at their opponents in search for an early lead.
Their constant pressure eventually gave them the lead on the 11th minute after a nice build up from the right fell on the path of Ibourahima Sidibé who struck from a close range.
Hearts of Oak came so close to getting the equaliser on the 17th minute but Gladson Awako’s free kick went off the upright. Just unlucky!
On the 30th minute, Real Bamako doubled their lead after Dennis Korsah unintentionally scored into his own net.
In the second half, the ‘Phobians’ returned really stronger and pushed more men forward in a quest to reducing their deficit and prolly get the leveller.
Hearts of Oak came so close to scoring but Caleb Amankwah’s thunderbolt missed the post by inches.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh also had a chance to pull one back but once again couldn’t find of the net on the 68th minute.
The Scorpions finally completed their riots on the 76th minute. Cheickna Diakite floored two Hearts of Oak defenders to connect into the net.

AS Real Bamako make it 3-0 against Hearts of Oak. Surely no way back in this tie for the Phobians. Another weekend, another chance for Ghanaian clubs to underperform in Africa again.

AS Real Bamako 3-0 Hearts of Oak. I wonder what the reaction on Samuel Boadu's face will be like. Going into an important game like this without a Head Coach. REALITY CHECK!!! 😏🇷🇴
