The National Democratic Congress (Ndc) Ashanti regional Communication member and a regional youth organiser hopeful Kofi Amoabeng said Ghanaians are suffering and it is very disheartening as to how President Akufo-Addo is spending much money on traveling.
Speaking to the journalist in an interview , Kofi Amoabeng emphasize that, On the 7th January, 2017, His Excellency President Akuffo Addo stood in public with high conviction and pledged to the Ghanaians and international community that he shall protect the public purse. But is unfortunately that it has happened the other way round.
“In many instances that this government portray as if he will defend this country with even last drop of blood as far as the expenses and corruptions are concerned.
But is very pathetic that this government has not honored what he told Ghanaians as far as his governance is concerned.
According to him, the president his Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo have shown that he came to spend the country money and resources on extravagant things without considering the plight of Ghanaians.
In the midst of COVID – 19 that world was in crises including Ghana and even the country economy was in bad shape yet Nana Akuffo Addo is spending the resources on luxury jet for his international travels Since 25th May, 2021 to 22nd June, 2022 with total amount of $ 4, 263, 062.85. This government has really shown that he thinks of himself and selfish as well. He came not serve the Ghanaians but to loot our resources to benefit himself and the ruling party. He stated, ‘
There were a lot of complaining or public outcry against the President decision of using luxury jet without considering the hardship the ordinary Ghanaians tax payer is going through.
Our neighbors countries such as Togo, Burkina Faso and other African countries continue to use their Presidential Jet yet Nana Addo opted to charter luxury jet to project himself.
The President knew that the country economy was heading towards to a ditch and there was a high impact of the COVID – 19 on the Private sector.
This Hardship is draining the ordinary tax payer pockets yet the President was flying in a luxury jet with a high cost per hour meanwhile the Presidential jet was there or can even use the first class commercial flight to cut down cost yet the President didn’t consider that in his decision.
President Akuffo Addo is the only President who has really cause the country more harm than good.
If the President has come to protect the public purse as he said; then he won’t hired this jet with high cost of money that some could have been used to cushion his failing promises he made such as 1 District 1 million Ghana Cedis or to pay the NABCO workers.
Everything indicates that the president didn’t mean of protecting the public purse but it was a propaganda to throw dust into ours it to cover his hidden agenda of loot and shared.
