A former Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Public Administration, Governance and Leadership from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
He was one of five people awarded a PhD degree at the 24th Congregation of GIMPA on the theme, “Strengthening partnership for impact”.
His doctoral thesis was on the topic, “Democratic politics and political vigilantism in Ghana’s Fourth Republic”.
His research relied on data from 46 owners and members of vigilante groups, CSOs, state security agencies and beneficiaries of vigilante activities.
It recommended a collaborative effort from all stakeholders to fight the menace.
The other PhD graduates were Thomas Akrofi, Elvis Kwame, Elvis Kwame Agyapong, Cornelius Yao Azumah, and Nathaniel Blankson, who presented their work in different fields of study.
