Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara has said he cannot guarantee trophies for the club next season.
Last season, the Phobian Club narrowly avoided relegation by securing a 3-2 victory against Bechem United at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on the final day.
During a press conference held on Thursday, Ouattara outlined his priorities, emphasizing his aim to avoid relegation next season while acknowledging the uncertainty of winning trophies.
“My main target is to ensure we don’t face relegation next season. Supporters always expect us to win, and any major club is expected to compete for trophies. However, our immediate focus is on building a solid team and staying out of the relegation zone,” said Ouattara.
“In football, fan agitation is normal. Man proposes, but God disposes. Even strong teams like Wydad Casablanca and ASEC Mimosa have experienced crises and failed to qualify for continental competitions.
“We need to concentrate on stability and gradual improvement. I can’t promise a trophy next season, but I am committed to creating a team that can compete and avoid relegation,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak has confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, Samuel Amofa, Michael Mensah Awuah, and Asamoah Boateng Afriyie.
