Patronize Services Of Paralegals For Easier And Quick Settlement Of Matters – Gender Ministry urges citizenry

In order to reduce the constant pressure on the Ghana Police and mainstream Courts, the Ministry of Gender & Social Protection and their Stakeholders have introduced a system to train Paralegals who will help settle subsidiary legal matters in our societies.

 

In view of this mission; twenty (20) of these Paralegals have been trained to operate at the Techiman Central market in the Bono East Region which is the largest food market in West Africa in order for peace and justice to prevail as it is not all matters that should always be sent to the Police Station.

Speaking in an interview with Asta Fm’s Nana Kwadwo Adu at a short ceremony to launch the Paralegals Team, Madam Julian Mutaar an Assistant Director at the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council who doubles as the Focal Person for UNFPA revealed that the Paralegal were selected from all sectors and groups in the market and have been duly trained therefore the populace should have great trust in them and always seek their Services.

On the part of Madam Malorny Asibi the Director of Domestic Violence Division at the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection, she urged the Paralegals to work accordingly in collaboration with the Police DOVVSU, Department of Children, Social Welfare and other Stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Nana Kwasi Konadu Yiadom Chief of Ayeasu in the Techiman Traditional Area and Leader of the Paralegals pledged to do a good job with his Team.
