The Former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Afigya Kwabre South, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has brought smiles and renewed hope to dozens of needy widows and physically challenged individuals through a heart-warming Christmas outreach.

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Chairman COKA embarked on a surprise charity exercise across some selected communities, where he personally distributed food items and cash support to vulnerable persons who would otherwise have had little or nothing to celebrate during the festive season.
The items presented included bags of rice, cooking oil, tins of sardines, mackerel, as well as money to help meet their immediate needs.
In all, about 20 beneficiaries received support during the exercise. Among them was a homeless widow at Atwima Takyiman, a physically challenged young girl at Akokeri, and a physically challenged man at Offinso Abofour.
Some of the beneficiaries were randomly selected as Chairman COKA moved through the communities, making the gesture a complete surprise to many recipients.
Explaining the motivation behind the initiative, Chairman COKA said the gesture was inspired by biblical principles of love and compassion.
“Just as God instructs us to support one another, we went out to ensure that those without hope this festive season get something to eat,” he stated. He added that the initiative was not about politics but about humanity and showing God’s love in practical ways.
“Our aim is simple: for them to understand that God loves them and will provide for them irrespective of their condition,” he emphasised.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to God and to Chairman COKA for the unexpected support.
Madam Akua Taako, one of the widows, said the intervention came at the right time, noting that she would have gone hungry without it. Another beneficiary, Ante Abena, a farmer, remarked, “God answers prayers. I was shocked by Chairman COKA’s generosity.”
Chairman COKA assured the beneficiaries of his continued support, pledging to visit and assist them whenever possible to improve their living conditions beyond the Christmas season.
