School feeding caterers in the Ashanti Region have threatened to embark on a demonstration over unpaid arrears.
Addressing the media, the disgruntled women said the government owed them payment for three terms.
Despite being members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the caterers expressed their dissatisfaction with how they are being treated.
The caterers warned that they would take to the streets in protest if their arrears are not paid promptly.
They contend that the government has till Friday to pay them.
They threatened to organize a naked protest against the ruling New Patriotic Party, led by His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, to show their disapproval if the government did not pay them.
They argue that despite numerous promises from NPP executives in the Ashanti Region, the cash has never hit their accounts.
Speaking with the media, the caterers stated that regardless of sending numerous petitions to the relevant authorities, their requests have not been fulfilled.
The caterers clarified that the bankers and lenders they borrow money from to provide meals for the pupils are constantly breathing down their necks.
Thus, they are appealing to the School Feeding Caterers Secretariat and President Nana Akufo-Addo to take the necessary action and reimburse them, or else they will stage protests in the streets to express their fury.
