A/R: Ahafo Ano South West MP Donates 1,500 Mathematical Sets to BECE Candidates.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo Ano South West Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, has donated 1,500 mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in his constituency.

The timely gesture is aimed at motivating the candidates as they prepare for their upcoming examinations.

The constituency, which is predominantly a farming community, is home to many families that face challenges in providing essential educational materials for their children.

Presenting the items on behalf of the MP, Mr. Owusu Banahene, the First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic

Party (NPP) in the constituency, said the MP remains committed to the development of education in the area.

“Education is one of the MP’s topmost priorities. This donation shows how committed he is to improving the educational standards of our children. He has always supported education, even before becoming an MP,” Mr. Banahene stated.

He further advised the students to take their studies seriously, noting that they are just a few days away from the start of their exams. “I urge all the candidates to study hard. The MP believes in you, and we are all confident you will make us proud,” he added.

Receiving the items on behalf of the District Education Directorate, Mr. Owusu Adu Yeboah, the Director of Finance and Administration, expressed gratitude to the MP for his continuous support towards education.

“We thank the Honourable MP for this generous support. It will go a long way to help the candidates. I want to assure him that our teachers have adequately prepared the students, and we are hopeful that they will excel,” he remarked.

Some of the candidates who were present during the donation also expressed their appreciation to the MP. “We are grateful to the MP for supporting us with mathematical sets. We promise to study hard and pass our exams with flying colours,” one of the students said.

Though Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah could not be physically present at the donation event due to official commitments, he assured the candidates of his unwavering support.

According to Mr. Banahene, the MP has promised to support students who pass their BECE and gain admission into senior high schools.

“He has been giving scholarships, building school blocks, and donating mattresses, provisions, chop boxes, and even money to support SHS students,” Mr. Banahene revealed.

The MP’s gesture has been widely praised in the community, as it continues a trend of educational support and development he has pursued since taking office.
