“Embrace Entrepreneurship Over Monthly Salary Jobs” – Up African Movement Director to youth.

Many Ghanaian youth, both educated and uneducated, continue to chase monthly salary jobs in hopes of securing financial stability.

However, the limited availability of such jobs has left the majority of them unemployed and disillusioned.

In response to this worrying trend, some determined individuals have taken their destinies into their own hands by learning skills and adopting an entrepreneurial mindset to create opportunities for themselves.

Even among those fortunate enough to be employed, the situation remains bleak as many struggle with low salaries that barely cover their basic needs. This has forced some into debt, further worsening their financial conditions.

In light of these challenges, the Director of the Up African Movement, Mr. David Megga, has advised the youth to consider entrepreneurship as a more sustainable path to financial freedom.

Speaking during the inauguration of a new ultramodern office of the Up African Movement inside the Asante Mampong Social Centre, Mr. Megga called on young people to move away from the over-reliance on monthly salary jobs.

He noted, “Our youth must stop exchanging their time for what I call ‘peanut money’ in the name of job security. The truth is, many of these salaries are not enough to help them establish themselves financially or become truly independent.”

Mr. Megga stressed the need for a change in mindset, encouraging young people to develop entrepreneurial skills and start their own businesses, regardless of their educational background.

He explained that the newly opened office would serve as an operations centre for training aspiring entrepreneurs in financial literacy and education.

“This office is here to serve the people of Asante Mampong and its environs. It will be a focal point where they can receive guidance on how to build their financial future. We are creating a financial community that understands how to grow, manage, and sustain wealth,” he stated.

The Up African Movement’s initiative is seen as a timely intervention to equip the youth with the tools and knowledge they need to break free from the limitations of formal employment and to become self-sufficient through entrepreneurship.
