The Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe and former Minister for Education, Hon. Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, joined the Church of Pentecost for the opening session of its 47th General Council Meeting held at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh on Tuesday.
The gathering, which brought together kingdom-focused leaders from across the globe, marked a moment of spiritual renewal and reflection for Dr Adutwum, who is also a proud elder of the Church.
He described the experience as an immense honour and a reaffirmation of the power of purpose.
“There are moments in life that reignite your conviction in the power of purpose, and this gathering of kingdom-minded leaders from across the globe was one such moment,” he said.
Dr Adutwum who is also an Elder of the church expressed admiration for the powerful “State of the Church” address delivered by the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, which highlighted both national and international milestones achieved by the Church.
The Church currently has a presence in 189 countries, with its global membership now exceeding 4.8 million. In Ghana alone, it boasts over 4.1 million members, representing more than 12.5% of the population.
He applauded the Church for its commitment to social transformation through impactful programmes such as prison reforms, school construction, health outreaches, and community empowerment initiatives.
“These are not mere statistics,” Dr Adutwum noted. “They testify to the transformative power of faith, unity, and visionary leadership.”
He further emphasised the critical role the Church plays in Ghana’s development, especially during a time of complex socio-economic challenges.
“Its influence in shaping values, nurturing communities, and providing moral direction is helping to mould the very soul of our Republic,” he stated.
Inspired by the Church’s vision, Dr Adutwum reaffirmed his commitment to integrity, discipline, and service—principles he believes are essential for national transformation.
“As we raise transformational leaders who fear God, serve with humility, and build with courage, may we truly possess the nations,” he concluded.
Dr Adutwum, who is seeking the flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), continues to receive strong public support as many Ghanaians root for him to become the next President of the Republic.
