Rapper King Paluta has formally petitioned the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) board over the exclusion of his hit song “Makoma” from the list of nominees.
In a letter dated March 18, 2025, the management of King Paluta expressed their disappointment that despite submitting “Makoma” for consideration in multiple categories, the song was not nominated.
The categories included Most Popular Song, Record of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
According to the petition, the team believes “Makoma” was one of Ghana’s most popular songs during the year under review and generated significant excitement among music lovers.
They argue that the song meets all ethical and moral requirements of the board and are requesting a convincing explanation for the decision.
The management further urged the TGMA board to reconsider the song’s inclusion in the previously submitted categories, emphasizing their confidence in the board’s competence and fairness.
