NDC Invites Alan Kyerematen

The Largest opposition political party in the country, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has surprisingly invited Alan Kyerematen to join the party.

The strange invitation comes barely few days after Alan Kyerematen withdrew from the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential election, scheduled for this year.

A top member of the NDC in the Ashanti Region, Ofori Agyeman Boadi, also known as ‘King Zuba’, who extended the invitation, said Alan is certainly not happy in the NPP.

According to him, he has realised that Alan decided to bow out of the NPP’s November 4, 2023 presidential election due to constant maltreatment by the NPP fraternity.

Zuba, a former Municipal Chief Executive of Obuasi during the NDC regime, assured Alan that the NDC would give him all the respect he needs for him to feel at home.

The top NDC member stated emphatically that Alan, who is a former Minister for Trade and Industry, still remains a huge asset in the political landscape in the country.

He described Alan’s withdrawal from the NPP presidential race as very appropriate and timely, but cautioned Alan not to contest for president as an independent candidate.

“Alan should not consider to go independent or form his own political party for the December 2024 presidential and parliamentary polls as it would spell doom for him.

“If Alan wants to remain active and important in Ghanaian politics, then he should either remain in NPP or join NDC. The NDC would wholeheartedly welcome him,” he pointed out.

Zuba opined that he doesn’t see Alan realising his long cherished dream of becoming Ghana’s president on the ticket of the NPP, saying that Alan’s time to lead NPP is past.

“Alan killed his presidential ambition in 2007 when he infamously decided to step down for Nana Akufo-Addo to become the NPP presidential candidate.

“Since that time, Alan didn’t become relevant again in the NPP. I must stay that he blew his chance after he stepped down for Nana Akufo-Addo,” he said in an interview on Akoma FM.
