Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group of Companies, Daniel McKorley, has said he would have considered sponsoring the Ghana Premier League.
But he has changed his mind due to what he described as the pervasive gambling associated with the sport.
The Ghana Premier League is currently without a headline sponsor following the termination of betPawa’s three-year contract with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
During an interview on Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show, McKorley, a renowned business leader, expressed his willingness to financially support the league but voiced concerns over the widespread gambling that has infiltrated the sport.

Meanwhile, Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku has hinted in a media engagement that efforts are underway to secure a new headline sponsor for the league ahead of the 2024/25 season, which is set to begin on September 6.
