VIDEO: ‘I Am Too Young To Be A Widow’ – Manasseh Azure’s Wife Expressing Fear Over Threats

Ace investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni revealed that his family urged him to leave journalism due to the threats he received from individuals exposed by his investigative work.

In an interview on Starr FM, Mr. Awuni shared that the intensity of these threats was so severe that his wife expressed fears about becoming a widow at a young age.

“Things were easier for me when I was alone, even though my family faced some risks. But one morning, my wife was in tears, saying, ‘I am too young to be a widow.’ No matter how strong you are, it hits you” he stated.

Mr. Awuni also mentioned that, his father received calls warning him about the dangers of his son’s journalism, particularly the powerful figures he was confronting.

“After my first investigations, my family wanted me to quit. Someone told my father, ‘Your son is going after people who know him”.

Despite these challenges, Awuni admitted there were moments when he questioned whether it was all worth it. However, he added, “Sometimes you see certain things, and you get so angry and outraged about it.”

He said if everyone allowed fear to stop them, no one would take action against the issues that threaten society.
