Ghana Misses Out On Most Protected African Presidents

They are seen as the most important individuals in their respective jurisdictions. They are sometimes loved by many or hated in equal measure by a few or a lot.

They make decisions that sometimes do not sit well with people but after all, they were chosen not to make popular decisions but tough life changing ones for the general good of society.

Here are the most well protected presidents on the African continent presently, don’t be surprised if your country’s leader is missing or your favorite President on the continent is not included. Enjoy the read.

 

 

1. Allasane Ouattara – President of Ivory Coast

Alassane Ouattara, has served as President of the Ivory Coast since 2010 and he is the 5th President of that country. Mr. Ouattara is currently one of the continent’s most well-protected presidents. When he goes on official tasks in and out of the country, he is accompanied by heavily armed security personnel. His presidential vehicle is escorted by heavily armed presidential security who follow him on foot until he is out of sight of the public. His convoy of high-speed motorbikes and armored Land cruisers follows him wherever he travels, making it one of the most stunning Presidential Motorcades.

 

2. King Mohammed VI – King Of Morocco

Mohammed VI is the King of Morocco. He belongs to the ‘Alawi dynasty and acceded to the throne on 23 July 1999, upon the death of his father, King Hassan II. Upon ascending to the throne, Mohammed initially introduced a number of reforms and changed the family code, Mudawana, granting women more power.

Mohammed is regarded by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre as the seventh most influential Muslim in the world.

The king of Morocco is one of the most protected leaders not only in the Maghreb region but the whole of Africa. His presidential car is an Armoured Mercedes 600 Pullman while in morocco. His motorcade normally comprises several Mercedes benz S 500 and Range Rover models when he goes to mountainous places, A BMW s series with a communications unit, an ambulance and several high-speed motorcycles. 3. Emmerson Mnangagwa – President of Zimbabwe

Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is a Zimbabwean politician who has served as President of Zimbabwe since 24 November 2017. He was born on September 15, 194 and is Zimbabwe’s third elected president. He is presently one of Africa’s most well-protected presidents, having succeeded Robert Mugabe. Zimbabwe has seen a lot of political and civil unrest in recent years, necessitating the president’s close protection, especially when he’s on official business in and out of the country. His presidential motorcade also includes high-speed police motorcycles, and the president rides in an armored limousine flanked by a large number of presidential guards.

 

 

4. Muhammadu Buhari – President of Nigeria

Muhammadu Buhari GCFR is a Nigerian politician and current president of Nigeria since 2015. Buhari is a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as the country’s military head of state from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985, after taking power in a military coup d’état

Buhari, as president of Africa’s most populous country, is unquestionably one of the continent’s most protected presidents. His safety and protection are of the utmost importance to the Nigerian people. His presidential motorcade is one of Africa’s largest and most impressive. Buhari’s security is extremely tight. His motorcade always consists of a high-speed police motorcycle and several presidential guards, which he takes with him when he travels on official business both within and outside of the country.

 

 

5. Cyril Ramaphosa – President of South Africa

Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa is a South African businessman and politician who is currently serving as the fifth democratically elected president of South Africa. Formerly an anti-apartheid activist and trade union leader. Ramaphosa is also the president of the African National Congress. He was elected South Africa’s President in 2019 and is one of the continent’s most well-protected leaders. His presidential motorcade is escorted by heavily armed presidential security.

 

 

6. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi -President of Egypt.

Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi is an Egyptian politician and retired military officer who has served as the sixth and current president of Egypt since 2014. His Presidential car is a 2013 Mercedes s class with a special black number plate. Currently, he is one of Africa’s most protected presidents and the fact that his country has one of the best military forces in Africa is enough to guarantee him utmost protection. When in public he is accompanied by more than 10 bodyguards, his presidential motorcade always comprises of high-speed motorbikes, land cruiser and a couple of armored Mercedes Benz

7. Paul Kagame – President of Rwanda

Paul Kagame is a Rwandan politician and former military officer who is the 4th and current president of Rwanda since 2000

He previously served as a commander of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), a Uganda-based rebel force which invaded Rwanda in 1990 and was one of the parties of the conflict during the Rwandan Civil War and the armed force which ended the Rwandan genocide. He was considered Rwanda’s de facto leader when he served as Vice President and Minister of Defence under President Pasteur Bizimungu from 1994 to 2000 after which the “Vice President” post was abolished.

He is considered Africa’s most popular and liked president because he has taken it upon himself to expose bad African leadership as well as bad Western influence in African politics.

He drives Tsh 1.272 billion Range rover. He is always accompanied by a high-speed Mercedes Benz, as well as several police motorcycles and land cruisers.

 

8. Paul Biya- President of Cameroon

President Paul Biya, is the president of Cameroon. He is the executive head of state and de facto head of government of Cameroon and is the commander in chief of the Cameroon Armed Forces. The authority of the State is exercised by him . He has been in power for the past 37 years and is one of Africa’s most protected presidents. He rides in a 500,000 USD armored range rover sentinel. He rides in his armored limousine on special occasions. The motorcade of President Paul Biya is one of the best in Africa. His convoy is made up of high-speed land cruisers and Mercedes Benz S class vehicles. When he is out in public, his car is heavily guarded by a group of eight specially selected bodyguards who run on foot at both sides of the vehicle. He is sometimes accompanied by a fleet of horses. As a result, he is regarded as one of Africa’s most protected presidents.

9. Mamady Doumbouya – Guinean President

Mamady Doumbouya born on 4 March 1980 is a Guinean military officer serving as the interim president of Guinea since 1 October 2021. Doumbouya led a coup d’état on 5 September 2021 that overthrew the previous president, Alpha Condé. He is a member of the Guinean Special Forces Group and a former French legionnaire.

He understands a thing or two about security and so he doesn’t give room to any funny business. The president of Guinea motorcade is quite the beefy one not luxury wise but combat-wise. He travels in Humvees by land and choppers by air. He is shrouded in countless bodyguards who go every length to keep him safe at all cost.

 

 

10. Ibrahim Traoré – Burkina Faso

Ibrahim Traoré is a Burkinabé military officer who has been the interim leader of Burkina Faso since the 30th September 2022 coup d’état which ousted interim president Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba. At age 34, Traoré is the world’s youngest currently serving state leader and is considered a no nonsense man.

He recently withdrew the country ambassador to Ghana over unpalatable commentary about Burkina Faso by Ghana’s President. He has an esteemed military elite group that gives him protection day and night. He hardly travels but anytime he is , he has a fleet of armored cars accompanying him in obscure places including roof tops , trees and masked men sometimes in mufti cloths.
