The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has elected a new leadership for their Student Representative Council after months of rigorous campaigns and electioneering.
The new leadership will be expected to take charge of the students and will steer them towards a better direction.
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has elected third-year Geography Student, Kane Nana Francis, as President of the Students Representative Council after securing victory in a tightly contested election.
Kane Nana Francis’s victory as the KNUST SRC President-elect was closely contested by Kofi Boakye Apraku.
Kane won the presidential election with a vote margin of 663 against his major contender, Kofi Boakye. He garnered 8,890 of the votes cast, against his closest contender, who garnered 8,277.
This historic moment marks his assumption of office as the University’s 64th SRC President.
After failing to win the SRC election last year, Kane managed to make a strong comeback.
His landmark triumph serves as a testament to his campaign promises centered around improving student welfare, academic excellence, and enhancing campus life experiences through meaningful engagements among students and university administrators.
