Bechem United hand Asante Kotoko first defeat of the 2022/23 GPL season after humbling them by 2-0 in an outstanding week 2 tie at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Thursday

Two either half goals from captain Kofi Agbesimah and Emmanuel Avornyo powered the Hunters to their second victory of the season.

The visitors begun well, and looked dominant especially in the early stages in terms of possession with no any dangerous incursion made.

Kotoko’s first attack looked dangerous as Richmond Lamptey hit with so much power but went wide for a restart.

The homesters just after settling down, got themselves a penalty after Seth Kwadwo’s free kick from the left went off the hand of John Tedeku in the box on the 22nd minute.

Skipper Kofi Agbesimah stepped up and scored beautifully to put Bechem United ahead.

In the second half, the Hunters opened up and were still driving more men forward with no intention of sitting deep in their half to preserve their lead.

Their sumptuous build up earned them a free kick at a very advantageous position but the delivery took a deflection for a wasted corner kick.
