Presec Legon has booked a spot at the grand finale of the 2022 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after an impressive performance on Sunday.
The six-time champions are looking to extend their record to seven or risk the record being equalled by defending champions, Prempeh College who have also qualified for the final.
Presec Legon began their afternoon’s tie looking like they would suffer an upset from St James Seminary SHS but after five rounds of the Primetime quiz, they showed their fortitude.

Presec have now qualified for four grand finales in a row, making them the strongest force in the competition recently.
PRESEC – LEGON makes it FOUR successive final appearances (2019-2022) equalling ADISCO’s record for “most consecutive final appearances” (2015-2018).
But the Legon-based boys’ school will need more than just history to win in the final. They must work on all aspects of the game to ensure no slip-ups.
Their performance in Round Three — known as Problem of the Day, could have cost them the semifinal but for the equally poor turnout of their challengers.
That is behind them for now, and they celebrate the win.

St James Seminary SHS and Kumasi High School who also featured in the contest are eliminated, becoming the last schools to say goodbye before the final day.
