The first vice chairman for the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Kwame Duodu, a.k.a. Sir John, has highlighted the hardship in the Ghanaian economy.

According to Sir John, who is also a Patron of NPP Crusaders and an NPP medical team member, Ghanaians are indeed suffering from hardships, but the cause shouldn’t be labeled on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Dr. Mahmoudu Bawumia and his administration because the hardship has befallen the whole wide world and we are witness to that reality.

So, Sir John claims that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo once said he knows how to bring the economy back to life, so therefore he has faith in his words.

He said Ghanaians understand what has happened in the world and are also aware that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) can do nothing to save Ghana from hardships, so, therefore, they are not the alternative and the NPP-led administration is the best choice when it comes to performance and best managers of the economy.

Sir John noted that , “amid COVID-19, President Nana Addo and the NPP-led administration brought so many new initiatives and programs to save our country from falling. Speaking of free water and supplying free food to the aged and vulnerable in the country, you and I enjoyed these packages. Even the advanced countries in the world couldn’t practice such programs for their citizens.”

Again, government workers were at home sometimes without working but fully enjoyed their full salaries and other incentive packages. Health workers were highly motivated and rewarded for putting lives at risk for our dear country, he said

Furthermore, Nana Addo and the NPP-led administration introduced COVID-19 relief packages known as the NBSSI MasterCard Foundation Recovery and Resilience Program for MSMEs, which was established to provide financial and business advisory support to MSMEs and start-ups as they weathered the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, the program will focus on MSMEs who need support to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses in growth sectors where the employment of young people, especially young women, will be negatively impacted as a result of business operation disruptions, supply chain challenges, liquidity shortages, declining sales and profits, and business closures.

“Indeed, we are not in normal times as a country, but Nana Addo and his NPP-led administration have proven that Father and the NPP are the best when it comes to good leadership and good governance systems. I hereby plead with Ghanaians to stay with the elephant. The elephant has not solved all our problems. But they provide glimpses of hope for the future. No going back to the dark days of insecurity”.

Sir John disclosed this to MyGhanaMedia.com in an exclusive interview.

“Ghanaians will only vote for the NDC in the 2024 general elections at their own risk.”

“The National Democratic Congress has no alternative policy to continue with the good works of the ruling New Patriotic Party initiated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.”

Sir John also reiterated that the NDC is a visionless party that must not return to power.

They have shown time and again that they are not an option when it comes to the governance system of the country. They said that free SHS was unachievable, but President Akufo-Addo has made it possible. They said nursing and teacher trainee allowances were not possible, but today the story is different.

They are the only social democratic party with no social intervention to their credit, and Ghanaians shouldn’t take them seriously but rather focus on the policies and flagship programs of the NPP government and how they are affecting the lives of Ghanaians.

He stated that Ghana has come a long way to slack in development and, per what the New Patriotic Party is doing in terms of development, you will need a party with strong policy ideas to manage or continue to improve the development agenda of the NPP.

“The party does not exist to win only elections. We formed the party to churn out programs and policies that will change the lives of people. We come up with new ideas regularly. We were holding press conferences regularly, sector by sector.

“Those who are in opposition now, have you heard that they have organized any press conference to provide any economic policy? Yet you, the media, haven’t challenged them. They have been in power and want to come again, but what do they want to come and do? ” he said.

He noted that it is sad to see abandoned projects scattered across the country when there is a change in government.

We are in distress, but had it not been for some of the good policies we’ve laid down by now, we would be in a more serious situation. He encouraged Ghanaians to allow the NPP government to continue the mantle because the NDC is not/never an option come 2024.
