Young Ghanaian music talent, Black Sherif has been crowned the new youth chief “Nachin Naa” in Tamale.
The prolific artiste and now chief was adorn with a colourful smoke by the elders to confirm his enskinment.
The ‘Soja’ hitmaker has received the title ‘Nachin Naa’ or ‘Chief of Youth’ in Tamale by the authority of the Chiefs and people of the Tamale traditional area.
In a video of the traditional ceremony to recognise his enskinment, a smock or batakari was put on him and after, a hat, akin to what is done to the chiefs of the area.

A beaming Sherif, a native of the mining community of Konongo in the Ashanti Region, received the honour at the Dakpema Palace in Tamale on Monday, 10 October 2022.
The ceremony’s audience of chiefs and townspeople, mostly sitting and looking up at him, cheered him on before he sat among them.
Born Mohammed Ismail Sherif, Black Sherif, a Muslim, is currently on tour in northern Ghana after the Thursday, October 6, release of his debut 14-track album ‘The Villain I Never Was’ which has received wide acclaim.
Black Sherif’s debut album, ‘The Villian I Never Was’, has raked in more than 70 million views on the streaming and audio discovery platform, Audiomack.
The first album of the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards nominee achieved the milestone in less than 24 hours after its release on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
The raving Ghanaian act gave fans and music lovers a feel of what to expect from his 14-track album by releasing a piece of the music titled Soja on Friday, September 22.
