The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have labelled another ban on AshantiGold SC, this time for dealing with banned officials, a breach of article 9, 13 and 16 of the GFA Statutes and the relevant provisions of the FIFA Statutes.
It could be recalled that, the ‘Aboa Kese3’ outfit were months ago, demoted into the country’s third tier due to their involvement in a game of convenience with Inter Allies in match-week 34 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
Players of both clubs suffered an indefinite ban from playing football with 22 of them later proceeded to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) to appeal the decision and have been granted permission to play until the final verdict is passed.
However, then AshantiGold SC bankroller Dr. Kwaku Frimpong and son who happens to be the club’s CEO, Emmanuel Frimpong were allegedly to have had hand in fixing of the game and were both given 10 and 8 years suspension respectively from all related football activities.
However, reports has it that, AshantiGold SC continues to deal with the two banned officials and after confirmation, the GFA have placed another ban just this morning on the club.
The new ban means the Miners shall lose all membership right that the club cannot play in any football competition, including but not limited to the Ashanti Regional Football Association Division Two League.
