Athletico Bilbao winger, Nico Williams starred in his second appearance for the Spanish national team after providing the only assist in Spain’s precious win over Portugal.
The 2010 world champions returned to winning ways with a 1-0 triumph over the Navigators at the Estadio Municipal de Braga in their final group fixture of the Uefa Nations League.
The 20 year old made his second appearance for the La Roja this evening and was introduced into the game on the 73rd minute to replace FC Barcelona’s Ferran Torres.
On his introduction, the young sensation came in and made some decent runs in search for the opener but all proved futile.
However, they finally got what they were looking for on the 87th minute after Alvaro Morata scored from a close range after collecting a sweet assist from Nico Williams who headed on from Dani Carvajal’s cross.
The victory means Spain will finish as the winners of League A, Group 2 with 11 points and have cruised to the next round of the competition.
