The Dome-Kwabenya Constituency Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, Theophilus Ansah Larbi, has said party members were not surprised that their MP was missing in action during a secret ballot on the approval of some ministerial nominees in Parliament on Friday.
Six ministerial nominees were approved in Parliament yesterday after a secret vote.
Three Lawmakers did not partake in the voting. NDC MP for Assin North Constituency, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson couldn’t participate due to his case at the Supreme Court. NPP MP for Kumawu Constituency, Philip Atta Basoah who is responding to treatment also couldn’t be present to vote. Controversial NPP MP for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, also failed to turn up.
Speaking on Atinka TV’s Oman Nu Nsem show hosted by Nana Owoahene Acheampong, Theophilus Ansah Larbi, who was happy that the majority won, said “Talking about her (Adwoa Safo) now will be waste of time. She is only proving to us that we made a mistake by voting for her.”
“I don’t know her whereabouts as the constituency secretary. We only heard in the news that she is back in the constituency but we don’t know her whereabouts. She doesn’t respond to our calls,” he added.
“We don’t have any problem with Adwoa. However, it seems she has a problem with the party and leaders who gave her a position she probably wasn’t fit for. When they give you a position you don’t even merit, you must work so hard to merit the position”
Theo believes the fate of Adwoa Safo’s representation for the People of Dome-Kwabenya ends in this parliament.
“The sweetness of the pudding is in the eating. I cannot determine whether we will give her another chance, but if the power is given to me, she cannot even come to me for forms,” the NPP scribe fired
